Mr. Fortson's Biography
Hello students, parents, and friends of Mossy Creek Middle School! My name is Matthew Fortson and I am happy to be working at MCMS this school year and look forward to meeting all of you. I was born and raised in Warner Robins and I am very excited to be teaching in Middle Georgia. I graduated from Houston County High School in 2003 and went to Kennesaw State for my teacher preparation. I graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in history education and then moved to Stebbins, Alaska for my first teaching job. I spent four years working with Yupik Eskimo students in a small rural school outside of Nome, Alaska. After teaching 8-12 grade social studies, I was fortunate to be able to move back to my hometown.
Personal hobbies I enjoy are reading, video games, anything related to technology and hanging with my friends. I am happily married to my wife Shauna and we have a dog named Honey Badger and two cats named Albus and Minnie.
